You are bidding on a vintage USAF Air Force issue pilot's flight jacket, type L-2B. Manufactured by Rolen Sportswear Company. Stock no. 8415-273-3973. Size is small. This jacket is in used good condition with some issues, it is dirty and needs to be dry cleaned, with soiling on the front left and right of zipper by the pockets (see photos), and back of right sleeve. The knitted waist band and cuffs have some mothing which can be seen in photos. Overall the material is slightly faded from age and use. It has a working CONMAR zipper. This jacket came from an estate sale, and belonged to a US Air Force veteran who was involved in the early NASA space, missile and satelite programs in the late 1950s through the early 1970s. There are 13 different patches which appear to be vintage and are hand sewn onto the jacket. Project Mercury, Apollo, Mars Probe, flight mission patch with roman numeral IX and 2 names below, AF Missile Development Center patch, 4900th flight test group, AF Special Weapons Center, AF Eastern Test Range, USAF Eastern Test Range Cape Kennedy, Macdonnell Douglas Phantom II, patch that says AFETR STARS, another reads ESG, and one that reads FACIETUR.
